Production / Printing

Screen Printing

In screen printing, ink is applied directly to your product using a screen, squeegee, and ink. We do this on semi-automatic and fully automatic screen printing machines. This allows us to print a wide variety of materials with precision, speed, and in any shape, using all imaginable colors. Examples include aluminum, stainless steel, plastic, and coated parts. This ensures that you receive an attractive product with high quality and a long lifespan.
With our advanced screen exposure technology, we can create our own screens with great accuracy and speed.

Digital Printing

The advantage of our Mimaki digital printer is that the startup costs for multiple colors are low. This makes this process particularly interesting for small print runs or full-color images. We also use the digital printer for variable data such as QR codes, barcodes, ID numbers, etc.

Pad Printing

Does your product have concave and/or convex shapes? Then Metafas uses pad printing. With this printing technique, almost any product, regardless of shape and surface, can be printed. We often use pad printing for printing on industrial components, both plastic and metal.

Mechanical processing

Milling

In the well-equipped mechanical workshop of Metafas, there are modern Datron CNC milling machines that can perfectly machine aluminum and plastic. Our machines operate at high spindle speeds, making them both fast and precise.

Press-Fit Nuts

Metafas produces carrier plates made of plastic or aluminum for front foils. Control panels and enclosures are produced and can be equipped with press-fit nuts and clinch nuts. Stud welding is also possible at Metafas.

Sealing

After the precise printing on the top layer of the aluminum control panel, Metafas seals your product. This creates an aluminum oxide layer on the top of the plate, ensuring that your control panel looks impeccable and has a long lifespan ahead.

Finishing

Cutting Plotter

For cutting plotter work, Metafas uses a large flatbed table model. The computer-controlled blade cuts smoothly through the vacuum-held material with the right amount of force. This machine can be automatically fed by a Cobot, which we have independently integrated with the plotter. This allows us to perform cutting plotter tasks without an operator, provided the production volume and product allow it.

Laser Cutting

Depending on the type of material and the thickness of your product, you can choose laser cutting. In this process, the laser is guided by a line drawing controlled by a computer. A protective sheet shields the material during the laser process, and this protective layer can be easily removed afterward.

Pick-and-Place SMT Machine

With our Essemtec SMT machine, we can quickly and accurately place components such as metal domes, LEDs, or chips onto a circuit pattern. This is usually done using a liquid adhesive applied with a dispenser.

Punching

With our punching machine, we effortlessly and very precisely create holes, contours, and embossments in plastic sheets. We punch small and large front panels and control panels quickly and accurately down to the smallest detail.

Assembly
In our spacious and well-organized assembly department, Metafas specialists precisely assemble your printed and cut front foils, control panels, and printed electronics. This is a crucial phase, as all layers must be seamlessly bonded together to ensure a perfectly functioning product. The products are then 100% tested for proper operation and labeled with a barcode sticker to ensure traceability at the end user.

Other assembly tasks:

Mounting foils and membrane switches onto carriers
Component assembly (e.g., assembling server cabinets for a customer)
Assembling enclosures and applying foils
Applying sensors to textiles (using a heat transfer press or heat/pressure press)
Molding and testing connectors for printed electronics
Simple soldering tasks (e.g., soldering cables)
Thermoforming

Skilled desk top publishers of Metafas translate your query into a beautifully shaped design on a digital drawing. We also design the entire front panel, in your own style where solid works functionality is leading. We put buttons at the right place and advise the application of LED lighting in your panel. Additionally, a mechanical drawing is produced for your carrier plate or artist's impression for your custom order.

The drawings supplied for DTP artwork must meet the following specifications:

- Name contact person
- Format: eps, ai, (up to CS5), pdf
- Vector file (no pixel file)
- Point contours (contour)
- Color code: PMS/RAL/CMYK
- Embossing (edge bulb plateau)
- Indoor / outdoor use
- For small print min line thickness 0.25 mm.
- General tolerance: +/- 0.2mm
- Interior fit: - / - indicate tolerance
- Size drawing with exact sizes, positions holes, buttons, windows and so on.

For membrane switch foils (circuits) we like to receive information about:

switching method, polarity of the LED connector (type) and tail length.

For digital printing, there is a minimum resolution of 200 DPI. Please note that products produced using digital printing cannot be embossed or stamped in connection because of delamination of the printing layer. RAL and PMS colors are approached.

For milling:
Submit in solid works format of AutoCAD DXF or DWG. Scaling 1: 1 and only the necessary layers.
